Technology is a great thing.......... even when it comes to cavity detection. A device that we frequently utilize here is called the Diagnodent. It take cavity detection to the next level. Many studies have been done of this device. To me, the value of the Diagnodent is very important because the sooner we can "catch" or diagnose the decay the SMALLER the filling will be, and thus the longer it will last (and the more tooth structure can be preserved). It's one of the greatest inventions to dentistry to date, IMO.

To make sure you have a cavity in your teeth, first you must see a dentist and then your dentist will be able to use the technology mentioned. I mean , you SHOULD see a dentist once in a 6 months' period of time to be able to use the latest technology of the dentistry products.
